Midnight Musings from Amanda: A Journey from Missouri to the World

It’s not even midnight, but I know I should be sleeping. After all, my baby will wake up at least once in the middle of the night, and then my three year old will come in a few hours later, ready to conquer the day. But I have fellow writers to message and words to write and stories to tell.

Being married to an Air Force pilot has given me the chance to travel the world, from hometown Missouri to the vineyards of Italy to the green tea plantations of South Korea to the Arizona desert. Traveling across states and to foreign countries lends itself to many amazing experiences, most pushing me out of my comfort zone, but what it does not lend itself to is a steady job. Freelancing had never been on my list of potential careers, but that’s the fun thing about life, right? Never know where you’re actually headed or how you’re going to get there. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to get where you feel you’re supposed to be. And that’s how I found Atypical Pictures, Inc. through a nifty little site called Upwork. Now, I get to work from home, spending my days juggling two kids and a husband whose schedule is anything but predictable, while collaborating with an amazing team of writers to tell fantastic stories that’ll impact those that hear them. My words may not pierce the heart of every single person, but it’s enough if it influences just one. That’s my hope, my goal. That’s my purpose.
